Jeffrey Earnhardt to run Dale Earnhardt throwback in 2018 Southern 500

Jeffrey Earnhardt is set to race all remaining NASCAR Cup Series races in 2018
Jeffrey Earnhardt will throwback to his grandfathers machine. The car was released at Nine Line Apparel headquarters over the off week.
Dale Earnhardt ran the same paint scheme in 1978. The Ford was sponsor Cardinal Tractor. If you don’t recognize it, that’s because the car was before Earnhardt’s full time career began. he ran five races that year, he’s fourth year in the division.
“I’m excited to honor my grandpa and pumped to have one of his more unique cars as my throwback” said Earnhardt. “It’s very cool that he ran the 96 and I’ll be running the GBR 96 next week in Darligton.”
J. Earnhardt hasn’t run a full season in the NASCAR Cup Series. However, in 2017, he ran every race on the schedule with the exception of Watkins Glen and Sonoma.
In 2017, Earnhardt drove for Circle Sport – The Motorsports Group. In December 2o17, TMG and Circle Sport parted ways. That left Earnhardt without a seat heading into 2018.
He picked up a seat with StarCom Racing for the first five races on the season. Bouncing around, he ran two races with Premium Motorsports.
On July 7, 2018, Jeffrey Earnhardt recorded his best career MENCS finish. He finished 11th at Daytona International Speedway via the Premium Motorsports machine. He’s run 66 races in the top division of NASCAR since 2015.
In his last two starts, he’s piloted the #96 for Gaunt Brothers Racing.
Jeffrey Earnhardt is now set to run the remaining portion of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule in the #96.
