Coca-Cola 600 results from Charlotte Motor Speedway

Tonight, it’s a crown-jewel NASCAR race. Charlotte Motor Speedway is set to host the famed Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 100 (1-100 / 400)

Green, Larson and Stenhouse run side by side into turn one. Larson noses ahead on the inside lane to lead off turn two.

Pit cycle

Lap 46, green flag pit stops are underway. Larson leads Chase Elliott by 2 seconds. Kyle Busch is the car on the move so far, he’s up to 8th.

Issues for Ross Chastain, the crew lifts his hood up.

Lap 56, Ryan Blaney pits for a second time. Issues for him, a loose wheel.

Lap 59, Larson cycles back to the race lead. Elliott trails by 1 second.

Lap 95, Suarez has a flat tire from 11th. He pits under green. Larson leads Elliott by 3 seconds.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 100 (101-200 / 400)

Green flag on stage two, Larson is clear before turn one with a push from Kevin Harvick. Larson throws a block on Elliott off turn two and holds the lead.

Lap 132, Larson runs low in turn one and his turn two exit is pinched as he drives under a lap car. Elliott enters turn one on the outside and builds momentum. They meet off turn two, Larson throws a block but Elliott fakes him, he splits the lap car and Larson. Through the middle down the back stretch, Elliott leads.

Lap 140, Kurt Busch has lost a belt. That’s the same as his teammate, Ross Chastain. No caution, Busch heads to the garage.

Pit cycle

Lap 150, green flag pit stops are underway. Larson and Elliott pit together. Larson makes up a bunch of ground under braking while entering pit lane. He gets alongside Elliott on the pit lane. Elliott is forced to let him by to get to his pit stall.

Lap 153, Larson cycles back to the race lead. William Byron trails by 3 seconds.

Lap 173, Kurt Busch re-enters the track with a new belt. As he steps on it, the engine blows and the caution is out.

They return to the pits. Bowman, Hamlin and Logano take two tires. Larson is off 4th with four.

Green, Bowman gets the jump on the inside with a push from Logano.

Lap 179, Hamlin looks to the inside of Bowman in turn one. He side drafts him off turn two, pulls him back and Hamlin leads into turn three.

Lap 182, Elliott looks inside of Hamlin for the lead in turn one. A sidedraft and he completes the pass, Chase Elliott leads.

Lap 186, Larson is back on the bumper of Chase Elliott for the lead. Larson looks inside in turn one. He sidedrafts off turn two and clears him in turn three, Larson back to the race lead.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 100 (201-300 / 400)

Green flag on stage three, Larson leads on the inside with a push from Byron.

Lap 212, Byron is all over Larson in the battle for the lead. Bell tags the outside wall off turn two, no caution.

Lap 230, Byron runs high in turn three as Larson works the inside. Byron exits turn four with momentum. He crosses under Larson and takes the inside into turn turn one, Byron to the race lead.

Lap 237, Harvick pits under green with a loose wheel.

Pit cycle

Lap 246, green flag pit stops are underway led by Truex, Logano, Kyle Busch and Blaney. Two laps later, Byron pits from the lead.

Lap 253, Larson cycles to the race lead. Byron trails by 1 second. Larson pitted one lap earlier.

Lap 276, Quin Houff gets into the back of James Davison. Davison is jacked completely sideways, he skates up the hill and tags the wall lightly with the right rear but keeps it going with almost no damage! Both of those cars are 8 laps down.

5 to go in stage three, Ryan Newman is in the wall with a flat tire and the caution is out.

Stage 4 – Report

Laps: 100 (301-400 / 400)

“I’m going to have to wreck him,” Kyle Busch says over the radio of how he can win this race.

Pit Penalty: Ryan Blaney has been caught speeding. Bubba Wallace’s crew lost control of a tire. They’ll both go to the rear.

Green flag on stage four, Kyle Busch gets the jump on the outside and he sidedrafts Larson off turn two. Larson clears him off turn four but Busch crosses under to try again. Larson holds him off on the outside back in turn one. Elliott follows him through to take 2nd away as Busch loses momentum.

75 to go, Larson leads Elliott by 1 second.

62 to go, Martin Truex Jr has lost a left front tire, no caution. He hits the pits under green.

Chase Elliott catches lap traffic at the wrong time. Kyle Busch drives by to take 2nd away.

55 to go, green flag stops are underway with Byron and Hamlin on pit lane first. 54 to go, Elliott and Kyle Busch pit. 53 to go, Larson pits from the race lead.

50 to go, Larson cycles back to the race lead with Elliott in 2nd. Kyle Busch boxes William Byron in behind a lap car but Byron fights back to take 3rd.

20 to go, Larson leads Elliott by 4.7 seconds.

12 to go, Elliott and Byron dice for 2nd as Larson opens the gap.
