Daytona Duel Results – Race 2: February 15, 2024 (NASCAR)

Results from race number two will set the outside row for the Daytona 500. Points are also on the line in the Daytona Duels with the winner earning 10 points and 10th earning only 1.

Duels at Daytona (Race 2)
Race Report

Green flag, McDowell gets the jump on the outside lane. He drops to the inside before turn one with Cindric on his bumper.

Lap 7, Kyle Busch shoves William Byron to the lead via the outside lane.

Lap 13, Noah Gragson shoves Riley Herbst to the lead on the outside. AJ Allmendinger pulls even on the inside lane.

Lap 16, AJ Allmendinger to the lead with help from William Byron.

Lap 18, Gragson shoves Herbst back to the lead. They both clear Allmendinger and drop to the inside lane. Herbst moves back to the top, Gragson remains on the bottom. Side by side for the lead.

Lap 24, Herbst moves to the inside lane. Bubba Wallace to the lead on the outside.

Lap 34, Wallace leads Christopher Bell and BJ Mcleod.

19 to go

19 to go, Wallace leads half the field to the pit lane. Byron wins the race to the pit exit.

18 to go, McDowell leads most of the Ford group to the pit lane.

17 to go, Harrison Burton leads the final group to the pit lane.

Pit Penalty: Zane Smith will serve a pass-through after speeding.

16 to go, Michael McDowell cycles to the race lead with Denny Hamlin on his bumper.

13 to go, Brad Keselowski is pushing Kyle Busch and Busch gets into the bumper of William Byron. Byron spins across the track and Ryan Blaney is hooked hard into the outside wall through the tri-oval. Briscoe, Wallace, McLeod, Herbst, Gragson and others are collected and the caution is out.

Green with 8 to go, McDowell and Hamlin run side by side into turn one. Bell shoves Hamlin to the lead on the inside.

Cindric gives a huge shove to McDowell. McDowell returns to the lead.

6 to go, Hamlin returns to the lead with inside momentum.

5 to go, McDowell pulls back even, side by side for the lead.

5 to go, Hamlin throws a big block on McDowell. Hamlin gets jacked sideways. Hamlin holds the lead.

2 to go, Hamlin, Bell, Nemechek and Smith run single file on the inside lane.

1 to go, Hamlin throws a block on Bell off turn two. Bell moves to the outside, Bell to the lead!

Christopher Bell wins the Duel at Daytona!
