JR Motorsports releases throwback Bud / MLB paint scheme for upcoming late model race
Major League Baseball is set to host a game at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Budweiser and MLB are teaming up in a blast from the past paint scheme for Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Back in 2001, Dale Earnhardt Jr drove his MLB/Budweiser paint scheme to victory lane at Daytona International Speedway. It was the first NASCAR race at the track since the loss of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Dale Jr stood on the roof of his car and the crowd erupted, creating an iconic NASCAR memory.
Now, a throwback to the paint scheme from that race is returning.
The car will make an appearance at Bristol Motor Speedway for the MLB Speedway Classic on August 2 at Bristol. It will then take to the track for the zMAX CARS Tour event at Anderson Motor Speedway on August 16.
The MLB game at Bristol Motor Speedway will be the first major league game in the state of Tennessee. The track will host the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds.

“It is an incredible opportunity to reunite with Budweiser and Major League Baseball,” said Earnhardt Jr.

Earnhardt Jr retired from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition following the 2017 season. In recent years, he’s been racing a late model stock car in CARS Tour competition on a part-time basis.

Last year, Budweiser announced their return along with the No. 8 to Dale Earnhardt Jr’s late model.
