Monster Energy signed a multi-year deal with NASCAR in December 2016. It was a deal that came together at the last minute after missing several deadlines to locate a entitlement sponsor.

Due to the initial signing coming later than expected, it’s also pushed back the renewal decision deadline. Monster Energy has now asked for more time to consider their options.

What are they considering?

Currently, Monster Energy double dips in it’s NASCAR promotion.

They are the entitlement sponsor as well as the primary sponsor for the #41 at Stewart Haas Racing. Monster Energy is currently considering both of those options. They might drop one or the other.

Additionally, they sponsor the NHRA Drag Racing team of John Force Racing.

All 3 of those deals are likely valued around $50 million.
