Indoor dirt race results from night one of the Chili Bowl Nationals
Tonight, the Chili Bowl Nationals opens with night one. The field of nearly 400 dirt midgets has been split into 5 separate preliminary shows. Points are collected every time they touch the track and those points will pay off on Saturday.

There’s two spots up for grabs in the biggest dirt midget race of the year. The top 2 finishers of tonight’s main event lock into Saturday’s A-Main.
Mitchel Moles and Jerry Coons Jr set the front row. 30 laps of dirt track racing are up next.

Feature – Report
Green flag, Moles leads on the inside into turn one.
Lap 2, Tanner Carrick knocks the cushion and pulls even with Coons Jr but can’t complete the pass.
Coons Jr to the lead!
Lap 10, the leader slices through lap traffic. Moles closes to his bumper.
Lap 15, Coons Jr and Moles run bumper to bumper on the cushion. They each slide through lap traffic in tow.
Lap 19, Kyler Johnson is parked against the outside wall and the caution is out. Tyler Courtney pushed him into the outside wall.
Green, Coons Jr launches from the cushion and leads into turn one. Moles does the same.
Moles slides him for the lead into turn three. He’s clear, Moles to the lead.
8 to go, Mitchel Moles jumps the cushion and tags the wall! Moles is upside down! The caution is out. Jerry Coons Jr also heads for the pit area but he wasn’t involved in the incident.
Green, Tanner Carrick leads Tyler Courtney as they both head for the bottom into turn one.
5 to go, Carrick opens the gap to Courtney. The bottom lane has taken rubber.
Tanner Carrick wins night one of the Chili Bowl Nationals! He crashes and flips after winning the race!
