Logano and Gibbs have a history. The two drivers traded bumper at Martinsville Speedway last season. That contact led to a conversation at Logano’s home. Logano thought they were on good standing.
Yet, in the very next chance, they ran into each other, again.
In Saturday’s Busch Clash at the LA Coliseum the two drivers were in a battle for the lead on a restart. With Gibbs on the inside, he missed the corner and drove Logano wide off turn two. Both drivers lost momentum, costing both of them a chance at the win.
After the race, Logano walked over to have a heated conversation with Gibbs. And since that conversation, Logano is wondering where to take their feud…

Joey Logano comments on Ty Gibbs
“Ty and I have raced pretty hard with each other, since last year,” Joey Logano stated via Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
“We tried to have a talk. Like, ‘Ok, we’re going to start at zero.’ Then, there were two weeks in a row where he was completely using me up.”
“I had enough. You can only poke the bear so many times before the bear bites back. I had enough and at Martinsville, I showed him I had enough.”
“He called me afterwards, which I respected that. He came to my place and we talked for 30 minutes. I thought, ‘Man, that was pretty cool.’ “
Logano added, “He was very humble. We had a good conversation about it. I’ve been through a lot of this stuff before when I was like him. I can see a lot of myself in Ty, I get a lot of it.”
“I thought, ‘If I talked to Kevin that way, Tony in that way.’ Gosh, that would have been great. I’ve been through this before. Let me see if I can help the situation.”
“So he left, we shook hands and we’re going to respect each other on the race track.”

“Only for the first opportunity for us to race each other, since that conversation to get completely used up on the restart. I get it, it’s 10 laps to go, in the Clash, we’re going to be aggressive with each other.”
“But, to completely use me up, into the fence. Not going to be ok with me. Obviously, I’m mad about that.”
“At that point, I wanted to make sure he knew I was pretty upset and that’s not acceptable. Now, where do we go from here? I don’t know.”
“we had a conversation, he said all the right things. His words don’t mean nothing to me anymore. So, I’m not going to talk to him.”
“I don’t really know the next thing to do. The kid’s talented, he’s fast, I’m gonna have to race him until the end of my career, he’s not getting fired, I know that.”
“I don’t know how to handle it from here. We can get in a back and forth match. I don’t really want to do that. But, I’m open to do it.”
