NASCAR driver Katherine Legge releases children’s book

‘Kat’s Magic Helmet’ is now released

Racing driver Katherine Legge has released her first children’s book, titled ‘Kat’s Magic Helmet’. The book is co-authored with Red Racer Books Publisher Andy Amendola and illustrated by Ashleigh Mower.

The book is inspired by Legge’s own racing career. That includes a start in karting.

Legge has a wide ranging racing resume. Currently, she’s running multiple NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series races in the 2025 season.

The book is for children aged 3-8 and it retails at $19.99.

Katherine Legge comments

“I know firsthand how it feels to be an outsider, having often been the only girl competing against boys,” said Katherine Legge.

“This book is for every kid who’s ever felt unsure or left out. I want them to know they’re not alone—and that they absolutely belong.”

Lyn St. James comments

“Katherine is an incredibly talented race car driver, but more importantly, she shares the magic of desire and self-confidence, so others can believe in their dreams,” said Racing Pioneer and Indy 500 Driver Lyn St. James.

“Not everyone wants to be a competitive athlete or race car driver, but young people—especially girls—can be inspired by her story of determination.”
