Is this a preview of the new NASCAR Chevy? (Video)

What are we looking at?

The Chevrolet group is rumored to be working on a new body for the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027 or 2028. Tweaks were made to the current body ahead of this season. But, in the coming seasons, a whole new shape is on the way.

At the same time, Chevy is bringing back the Camaro. Production begins in 2027 for the 2028 model year.

Did we just get a preview of the new NASCAR Chevy?

Yesterday, Kyle Larson did burnouts on an aircraft carrier in California. The stunt was to promote the race this weekend at Naval Base Coronado.

If you look closely, the car was not the body of the current Next Gen Chevy. Instead, the front nose looks completely different. There are adjustments in the rear as well.

The entire front fascia looks very different from the NASCAR Camaro ZL1. It’s very unlikely that this would be the final version of the 2027 racecar. However, there could be elements of it that are more of a preview.

Hendrick Motorsports has not stated why they used a different body style. We can only speculate what this is.

Noval Base Coronado is a new track on the NASCAR schedule. Cars will be on track beginning today.
