XR Events owner arrested in Minnesota

49-year-old Barry Braun has been arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s office

XR Events hosts a range of dirt track racing events across the United States.

The series owner, Barry Braun has been arrested. He was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s office in Minnesota.

In recent months, many racers have made public claims that they have not been paid after running events promoted by XR Events. It remains unclear why Braun was arrested.

Big money dirt racing events

The sanction puts on the XR Super Series for the dirt late model division. Two events paid $50,000 to win in 2025, the Minnesota Mega at Ogilvie Raceway in Minnesota and the the Yankee Dirt Classic at 300 Raceway in Iowa.

Recently, the sanction put on a $100,000-to-win event for the stock car division. The XR Rampage event was held at Sports Park Raceway in Iowa.

A $100,000-to-win crown-vic race was scheduled for November All-Tech Raceway in Florida. That event was abruptly canceled back in October.

In October, the track issued a statement, “Due to circumstances beyond our control at All-Tech Raceway, the $100K to win XR event for the Crown Vics will not take place as previously scheduled. Any refunds for entry fees will have to be handled through XR. This was not an All-Tech Raceway event, nor did we accept any entry fees. We were to lease our facility to XR for this event.”
